As a full-time dog trainer, I know Pavlov used food for a reason; and I am concerned with the growing number of clients who tell me either that their dog is unable to digest food properly or that they are no longer interested in food. Not having the right “dog-$” in your pocket makes the relationship-building process more challenging than it needs to be. In my professional experience, keeping nutrients in and chemicals out is important not only for keeping bellies stable, but primarily for motivating creatures of survival with superhuman noses. We are not fooling our dogs with colors, shapes, and fancy packaging!
