Our Carbon Pawprint

We are committed to protecting our natural environment. (Mostly, because we believe our dogs want us to!) From compostable packaging to “green” production methods in our kitchen, our minimal carbon pawprint keeps your own nice and trim too. If you are as haunted (as we used to be) by the amount of packaging waste that ends up in the ocean by the time your dog enjoys his most recent shipment of goodies, then try going green and going local for more peace of mind!

PACKAGING & DISTRIBUTION MEASURES

Compostable paper bags or recyclable glass mason jars are used for product packaging.

Compostable packing peanuts, shipping tape, and recyclable cardboard boxes are used for package shipments.

Non-bleached, kraft-brown paper packaging materials.

Local, curbside deliveries are completed in an electric vehicle.

Our mobile “doggy food truck” is 100% solar-powered.

Local, in-store pickup eliminates unnecessary packaging waste, fuel, and shipping costs associated with online shipments.

PRODUCTION MEASURES

Non-toxic, plant-based cleaning products (v. toxic chemicals).

Boiling water to sanitize (v. chemical solvent).

Washable microfiber rags and tea towels (v. disposable paper towels).

Low-temperature raw dehydration by electric convection ovens set at 170 degreesFahrenheit (v. energy-intensive freeze drying).

Producing small batches, and packaging smaller quantities means more nutrients percalorie for your pup (v. that 100-lb “mystery” bag).

SOURCING MEASURES

“Grassfed” or “Pasture Raised” proteins keep chemical antibiotics, hormones, steroids, and processed feed ingredients out of the food chain, and out of the environment.

Pet-Isserie Sustainability:

Sourcing fruits and vegetables locally, whenever seasonally possible, helps minimize the leaching out of vital nutrients enroute to our kitchen, and reduces delivery-related fuel consumption and other associated costs.
